Univox guitars were built by the Matsumoku Guitar Factory in Japan which were OEM suppliers to Westbury, Area, Westone, Epiphone, Fender Japan and several other brands at the time. It has plenty of scuffs and dings as you might expect from a 30-40 year old guitar. Production under the Univox name was halted after a fire at the Matsumoku factory. Guitar making operations moved to Japan in 1975 where they continued making guitars until 1982. The company was purchased by Gulf+Western in 1967. Finally, in 1985, Unicord was purchased completely by Korg. They began marketing a line of amplifiers under the name of Univox. However, when prolactin levels become too high, it can lead to a condition known as hyperprolactinemia. Even Univoxs solid state amps designs were almost 10 years old. It is responsible for many different functions in the body, including milk production and reproduction. Debuting in the late 60s, the styling here was based on the Mosrite guitars.
I guess a lot were sold back in the day with slips of paper containing the serial. I can find more pricey versions that don't just have the standard dots on the neck. I see a lot of pictures online, but all with no info. The Hi-Flier is one one of the coolest basses to come out of Japan in the 70s. I cannot find any info about this Univox les paul copy.
